the things that can't be insured are consumables like ammo, food and medical supplies

but those are pretty plentiful if you know where to look so it's not a big deal

basically, there are two kinds of players you should be prepared to deal with

hatchlings and fortlords

hatchlings are dudes who just bring a hatchet/knife and then run around until they either die or grab some scav's gear

because doing so is basically risk-free in terms of actually losing shit

meanwhile, fortlords are the guys who bring in top-tier equipment and require AP rounds to deal with

Honestly, I'd be more interesting in the Fo4:NV remake

since like 90% of the engine shit openNV would give you a baseis for was kludged together into the base FO4 engine, or the FOSE script extender

NV hasn't aged well at all from an engine and design standpoint

For the time it was pretty great, but comparing NV and 4 makes me sad

because of how much better the gunplay alone was in 4

of that I have no doubt

the issue is every time you bring the engien forward a generation you split the spergs

some will work to develop new shit for the old engine, some will move to the next version of the engine, some will backport crap from the new engine to the old one, etc.

and the One True Vision holy wars are always awful

yes

mosin is the most cost-effective gun in the game and i fully expect it to get some kind of a price or availability nerf

because right now it basically ignores all cheap body armor and is more useable at long range combat than even the serious combat guns of the game (edited)

IMO the only thing i'd give it would be to make the scopeless one be a level 2 item while keeping the barterable scoped mosin at level 1 (edited)

the game could use more shitty guns tho

also, they added a proper old-skool fal to the game

which in this case is represented by the DSA-58 which basically is the steyr FAL, built by yanks

and because a lot of the waste was ammonium nitrate that was getting hot, it blew the lid off at quite a lot of force

the lid being a concrete slab weighing about 160 tons (edited)

keep in mind, this is an open cycle facility that basically just dumped all the highly radioactive stuff to the river because STALIN WANTS HIS FUCKING NUKES NOW

which got eventually fixed because post-stalin apparachniks got concerned about how it was gonna affect the agricultural prospects of the land

it's not as dumbly done as the windscale pile but still, a very hasty program
