We soaked their outer wall for 30 minutes

Have a friend who's going to make a bit better video of everything later lol.

They also added a 100 turret limit to bases within 32 foundation range of all turrets.

So this base wasn't as prepared as some.

You can make quick work of normal turrets with stego soaking.

For the most part you need heavy turrets now.

Eco Mid to Late Game Our focus for the next big update to Eco (which we plan to start doing monthly) will be to add much more machinery and vehicles. The goal for the end of the game is that players will no longer be doing labor by hand; instead they will be using massive machinery to transform the planet at a large scale. Bulldozers to flatten land, cranes to build skyscrapers, mining drills to harvest entire mountains, plows to create farms and combines to harvest them, logging machinery for harvesting entire forests, boats for sea transport and trains for land. To succeed in stopping the meteor, half your planet will be covered in farms, more in skyscrapers, and several mountains strip mined out. Doing this without destroying the ecosystem in the process will be a challenge, and the arc of the game will see players growing in strength with their technology and economy and having to grow their civics and regulations alongside them, or risk internal destruction. We’ll be putting together models and start building these out over the coming weeks, but we have a couple already made, boats and trucks:

ARK is an awesome game, possibly the best in what it is trying to provide. However Wildcard is fucking trash. They are the poster child of a "big business bad" indie company that hit something massive and dropped the ball because they were too against spending money on proper business model. They pump out tons of content, but the horrible crap their Official Network is beyond describing. Meshing/aimbotting and duping is the norm and the way they run their systems, it will never be fixed unless they somehow invent something like battle.net for it. I won't ever return to ARK unless it gets something like that added to it, where they are paying GMs to monitor/respond to issues immediately (would even pay a sub for it) instead of after you've been exploited or instantly lf if you're lucky to be in the special loop of players who interact with the devs regularly (that last part makes me even more sick at the game)

That or something like what they were trying to do with the extinction servers, where they wiped fairly often. Players tend not to bring stupid exploit shit to that, and if you do run into it, its not as much of a sting as losing multiple months of tribe progression. Personally I enjoy that playstyle. Makes the resets feel like extended RTS matches against other players/tribes, instead of a never ending pursuit to maintain Alpha status

my cellar was dug out by child labor, and the original cube of the house was just a place for sawmill workers to sleep and shit. they cooked and ate down the road at the mill.

my walls are a fucking nightmare to run things through, but every room is damn near soundproof and the whole place stays really cool in the summer

I've got to extend the staircase out though, because apparently a bunch of satyrs with tiny hooves lived here instead of men with normal-sized feet

but in this price range, it's either a cool old house with some pros and cons, or a fucking modular

which is basically a trailer

I did inherit some trees that I'm going to have to pay someone to remove though, and that sucks

Tay earlier you mentioned pay2win and while I agree to a certain extent, that really stuck with me and I started thinking about it, at a certain level it's negligible and if the average pledge is truly $95 then it's already crossed that threshold. I mean an organized group of super hornets is gonna be taking down an Idris, especially without the manpower it requires 24/7 to be functional

Just thought I'd point that out because it's an interesting aspect to the whole pay2win argument. Even with the basic bitch pledges (which everyone will get at launch since pledges and real money ships won't exist anymore), they'll be upgrading those ships within a month of play I'd imagine. Especially once they're able to trade ships in game. (edited)

I still think it's gonna end up being where every ship purchase is a major event/milestone for the player but I think it'll be like purchasing heroes with renown in R6Siege/For Honor where it's feasible with a reasonable amount of play.

I feel like LTI throws a wrench in games like this. Eve ships can be worth thousands as well and if you lose them they’re gone, which creates real tension and emergent gameplay around not losing your shit

hit detection seems good,

They just added AI FPS to NPC's and missions last patch and are improving upon it with the c urrent test patch

the guns have 1:1 view and world model animations too

eve is sort of a weird one in that all the guns have full coverage

you don't have to worry about ever being out of position to shoot dudes, it just randomly comes from some mount on your ship and hits

in reality you'd need a bazillion different gun mounts because not everything is covered (except missile launchers)
