2019 roadmap being described
"so we renamed warframes to javelines"
writing down things chat is suggested
"reworks, prime trailers, raids back, kingpin, lore"
(edited)
three warframes being worked on, two they'll show this stream
commission for showing their concepts off
early on this year: "deck 12 - exploiter", an expansion for fortuna that should have a bunch of lore
following: gas city rework release, "amalgams" is some content related to it
looks like content centered on corpus using sentient tech tied into a new type of mission
after that: "wolf of saturn", complete rework of alerts and challenges for the game
UI mockup related to that
placeholder rewards
new character and lore related to it, seems like basically it will be sets of challenges that run during a period and develop upon themselves during the span they're active
sounds very living story-like tbqh
new character will be a new type of enemy apparently, sounds like it may be the introduction of a faction even?
I should mentioned, before they starting rattling this all off they did seem to imply they wanted to improve the balance of more gradual and regular updates to huge ones that suck up all their effort (the implication being that last year was basically taken up by just progress on a few huge releases)
The New War is implied to be planned before Tennocon 2019
(as if everything else so far)
they shared this as a New War teaser
def looks kind of like the sentient place the lotus/her mother are in at the end of The Sacrifice
but of course seen from the outside rather than inside
(edited)
oh, it's implied this ship-looking thing may actually be lotus' mom
(edited)
after The New War - "Warframe Empyrean"; seems to be a combo of railjack but for every location in the solar map rather than just around venus
this is starting to sound like they might be going full space sim on it, lol
"possibly even connected to The New War's teaser image"
showing off renders of new enemy ships we'd encounter - fighter classes for each faction + new capital ships
(edited)
they say they'll be able to do so much this year because they're not planning on secretly developing huge secret releases to show off at tennocon
rather it seems they're going for big transparent and systemic changes to the game
but there will still be surprises at tennocon they say
everything to this point is before or around tennocon, then there's stuff slated for after during the fall:
new faction we've never seen before and a corresponding tileset (if I had to speculate and they're giving us a new starmap with The New War, then this will be another faction BESIDES the sentient who will be on that starmap)
this faction seem to be tied to a planned "planes of duviri" (the "planes" he says is an intentional misspelling which to me implies they may be extradimensional beings which would be a new flavor of enemy for the game after all)
he says this is a very early concept tied to all of that
they look sort of like the orokin which makes me think they may be a surviving evolution of the upper class orokin or something who learned to jump dimensions (maybe they embraced the void, granted them tenno-like qualities?) which helped them to contend with the sentient? just my own speculation here
on the backside of his roadmap index card is the ongoing reworks and upgrades
including melee 3.0 and backend tech stuff
and of course melee 3.0 is intended to be a gradual change based on weapon classes
difficulty rework planned which may begin with the wolf of saturn content
(edited)
new player experience and tutorials
apparently a small team dedicated to improving the beginning
this is little spoiler is apparently part of whatever changes they're making to the early game
looks kinda like they wanna make the intro almost cinematic quest quality which is probably a good idea - those are the heart of what really makes the game compelling imo
the whole board
alright, big year outline completed, but still like half the stream remaining
showing one of the new warframes: Hildran (sp?)
looks kinda like a female rhino in shape
shield-based warframe - uses shields instead of energy
not very specific on her moveset yet but that's the basics of it
first warframe that'll be released with a weapon that isn't primary/secondary/melee
she'll come out with a new archgun (as those are now parts of the ground loadout and such)
improvements to trading planned
new trading screen w/ 6 slots instead of 5 (good for saving daily trades on bulk items i guess)
easier sorting by category
can select all 6 things for trade without having to back out of item selection menu it seems
"proxy rebellion" event in dev build worldstate panel, could be an upcoming event
