why should i play this game over, say, roller coaster tycoon 2000(edited)

is this game fun or "mmo fun"

the latter isnt real fun

It's not really like an mmo

It's more of an exploration type game with occasional pvp

as in swinging from your ship over to another via the grappling hook and hoping you can kill the captain and crash their ship into the void

sadly i just read that its a 32 euro early access title on steam which killed my interest by about 90%

The grappling hook alone is already worth the game imo

perhap in a few months ill give it the old testaroo

But usually it was like: Build a ship, fly to other islands, check for loot boxes and knowledge caches, maybe slap on some newer engines/wings on ship, go to next island

And if you find some other ship you'll wanna try and fuck with that dude.

early access mystery crafting games always have that thing where you could run out of content any minute. the hope is always that they add more things before you get bored

So what do i need to build first in order to start building a ship?

a shipyard

then a construction thingy

then the frame of a ship

1 atlas core, 1 helm, 1 sail

and that's a bare minimum flying boat

Furl/Unfurl the sail to go forward or stop

Pressing W/S does nothing with sails

also add in a personal revivor

Also scan everything with your 4 tool

especially those larger metal cannisters that give 25 knowledge each

You can also find blueprints in chests sometimes

and if you haven't figured it out yet, press Tab for menu, go to Knowledge, and learn basic ship building

i got that far, but i cant find the casing mats its asking me for the assembly station

it's either metal or wood

but you need the full amount of the same material

but like for you shipyard, you can use any metals for the different components

like Lead for the casing, bronze for the internals, etc

The sketchy looking part is when the panels and sails went

Fallout probably missed the part where lightning struck the helm perch and the canopy shield over the helm went flying off

I think I saw the sparks of the panels ripping off, but not the actual lightning strike

He's a guy in our discord and I had the same issue but was able to resolve it by deleting my character. He's done that at least once now I believe and didn't want to lose progress again. I put the bombs two and two on his personal reviver and almost blew it up. I came around to find the same ship so this time I put 4 bombs on the reviver and took it out... i destroyed the ship for parts.

Repossessing the disposable will be easy and you guys can have it, it took all of 10 min to materialize. But now, the main ship, that’s gonna be a whole ordeal. Slam whales are pretty active, you can always find a crew. Not as active as I'd like (50 ships patroling all the sectors) but it's good enough to play at least which is surprising given the memory leaks.

It's great this game is as good as it is, otherwise the glitches and lack of optimization would have killed it.
