Originally, the war began over a turn conflict in The SomethingAwful Discord that spawned from BMW founder Taylor Swift disagreeing with Serious Overchill founder FAT32s ways of moderating the Discord. However, in short order Serious Overchill left the sphere of the war, not returning until the very end when they briefly hosted the offshoot tankies during The Incel Uprising.
