Rusty Goons (Renamed to Rusty Days from 2021 to 2025) was a video series made up of a compilation of clips of BMW in Rust. The groups early success in recruitment is largely attributed to the series, giving those unfamiliar with the game and the group a fun and intimate look into the game and the social dynamics of BMW before joining.

History

Rusty Goons began filming in late May of 2015 with the inception of BMW. Demand was high for clips of the groups antics and raids to be uploaded for other members as well as prospective new members to enjoy. Taylor took it upon himself to take charge of this, as he had been the primary recorder of most the antics.

The Door Code Incident

A rather embarrassing event came in the aftermath of Taylor releasing raidcam footage of the HR raid wherein after censoring the doorcodes, he shifted the footage by 1 second, revealing the doorcodes. Not checking the video, he released it, with many of BMW's enemies seeing them and raiding the DREADFORT in the wee morning hours before the wipe. Because it was a wipe day, damage was minimal and Taylor was quickly forgiven, though more oversight was demanded for the series, adding several of the BMW leaders to the channels mods.

Hiatus & Return

After the 3rd episode, the series went in a several month hiatus covering the Fall Hiatus from BMW as well. It returned in early December to begin drumming up support for a return to Rust, as most Bimmers had gone their seperate ways in the months since they had last played.

Final Episodes

The bulk of the series covered the 2016 era of Rust, far from the Golden Age of 2015, but remained popular in their own right. As content began to slow down going into Summer 2016, so did the videos, with the last of 2016 in May. A final episode came out a year later, featuring only one clip of BMW, mostly showing TSS, a group of pubbies Taylor and a select few Bimmers had joined up with to try and reinvigorate Rust.

Rebrand

After the events of 2020, WIDEBOYS sought to rebrand from all things Goon as much as possible, especially in regards to the BMW YouTube channel, now Taylors personal channel. One of the solutions was to rename Rusty Goons to Rusty Days. The videos intro cards still show the original branding with only the YouTube titles being changed. There is no current plans to rerelease the previous episodes with edited intro cards.

This rebrand was reverted in 2025 for the 10th anniversary of BMW and the series.

Future

The 10 episodes released cover only an hour or two of the nearly 300 hours of footage that were recorded. Taylor has said that he is open to one day releasing more of the footage, either in raw format or in the form of a return of the series. Much of the unedited footage was shown on WIDETV over the years.

Considered a step up in quality from the first, and over twice as long, Rusty Days 2 featured more clips from BMW during the 2nd and 3rd wipe while on Rusty Bottoms. Included clips later used in The Xyelz Anthology as well as the SPEED Raid.

Shorter than #2, the episode featured clips from the Desert DREADFORT including the giant Confederate flag as well as the No-Clipper Attack
3.5	Rusty Days 3.5: Have A Goony Christmas	December 6, 2015 (2015-12-06)
After half a year of no episodes, Rusty Days returned with a collection of clips from Terminus Gaming server. The episode served mostly as a propaganda piece to reignite interest in BMW after the several month Fall hiatus.

With return to full time releases, most clips were from earlier in the Summer on Rusty Bottoms, as well as more recent clips from time spent on ADOLFS, such as the Glitched DREADFORT, and more from Terminus Gaming.

More clips from Rusticity including Quornes deep cover infiltration of a Pubbie clan and one of the few available pieces of footage of the infamous "Poverty Raid".

After another several month hiatus, the show returned from Uprising Server, a return to NewBoondockOxide, and some older clips from Rusty Bottoms.

Clips mostly from Bishyalers server PvP Online, but also more from Uprising and NewBoondocksOxide. By this point activity within BMW had begun to slow and content was coming to a crawl.
