ARMA III was BMWs first major group based game, post-Rust. The game was an almost immediate success that helped to solidify the base of BMW to accept the group as a social and gaming group, instead of just a Rust group.
About
ARMA 3 is an open-world, realism-based, military tactical shooter video game developed and published by Bohemia Interactive. It was released for Microsoft Windows in September 2013, and later announced for macOS and Linux in August 2015.
ARMA 3 takes place in the mid-2030s, on the islands of Altis and Stratos in the Aegean Sea, and the South Pacific island of Tanoa. The islands feature photo-realistic terrain and water environments. Altis is the largest official terrain in the ARMA series with ground area covering approximately 270 square kilometres (100 sq mi). The smaller island, Stratis, expands over an area of 20 square kilometres (7.7 sq mi).
The single-player campaign has the player take control of U.S. Army soldier Corporal Ben Kerry. During the campaign, the player will face everything from lone wolf infiltration missions to the commanding of large scale armored operations. The player will be able to choose different objectives and weaponry (such as UAVs, artillery, and air support) according to their play style.
History
Interest in ArmA began within BMW not long after Rust had began to taper off as a primary source of gaming for the group. A channel was created on May 24th 2016 for ArmA, and Bimmers began playing individually in different game modes as the group began to form up.
Pubbie Servers
The first server BMW landed on was called Sager Gaming, running the Exile mod for ArmA, which essentially turned the game into Rust with APCs. The map was a large Russian like map (Possibly Beketov). BMW with its 6+ players was easily the largest group on the server, and therefor ran roughshod over anyone and everyone. The admins in particular were not fans of this, and when the Bimmers began harassing people in the safe zones by repeatedly running them over with APCs, the admin teleported everyone and their vehicles to the farthest northeast corner of the maps and asked them kindly to stop.
BMW Server
On July 1st, after a month or so of pubbie stomping, the Bimmers founded their own server also ruining Exile, but this time on the Altis map. Rejdukien was in charge of running the server, and Jack, Taylor, and Gmach were all admins.
The first drama came literally just 24 hours later when Rigby started sniping people and then flexing about it on Discord. To absolutely nobodies surprise, Ashy got very angry about this and feuded with Rigby for weeks.
The server ran fine and even attracted some pubbies, who would talk with the Bimmers at any time via a bridge between Discord and ArmA using the #arma_pubbies channel. Eventually however, Jack as the financier of the server, felt it was time to shut it down, and thus ArmA died.
2018 Rebirth
On May 30th, 2018, almost two years after the original server, the rebirth server was brought online via The Incels self hosted server. It was immediately a hit with the group, as the server this time ran different game modes instead of Exiles, focusing more on team work and strategy than just pure dicking around. The most prominent and played mode was a recreation of the Vietnam war.
However, the game eventually led The Incels to develop a clique within BMW, which in turn was one of the causes of the Incel Uprising, which again killed ArmA in BMW.
